Here are a couple thoughts of mine... perhaps youll take a glance, perhaps not: I get politics. I understand the importance of government. I appreciate opinions and laugh at sarcastic and witty remarks. But as I was sipping my coffee this morning, listening to the radio I was filled with a sudden sadness for the innocent people being killed in this feud between Israel and Gaza. I remember when I was in High School, there were several students who lost their lives. I remember seeing the pain of the family members and friends who had to live on after the tragedy. I saw how everyday became a struggle for them and how their whole lives were changed forever. This morning I thought, what if another student had died. That would be double the pain. Can we imagine that? What about tripled? Now imagine that pain times over 1,300. Suddenly politics and supporting one side verses another seem meaningless. What ever opinion one holds of who should be supported or whose fault the conflict is, one must see how this loss of life is against everything we stand for. Not as Democrat or Republican, Israeli or Palestinian, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Wiccan or any other place we are categorized. This is against everything we stand for as human beings. I admit I cant do much. But I can at least try to convey to people how we as humans have an obligation to humanity to beg this fighting to stop, before those in pain are multiplied more and more. Ok back to coffee......
