Here are some excellent tips on positive behavioral interventions for dealing with defiance, which is often related to rigid thinking and anxiety, which can be common in sensory kids. I somewhat disagree with #7; I think acknowledging the behavior is important, for instance, saying, Im sorry you feel that way but youve made your point. If you need to keep complaining, please take it to your room. That draws a firm boundary and teaches kids that other people have emotional needs, too.
