Here is a beautiful poem (The garden of Wisdom) driving home the moral "YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE, AND NOT WHAT YOU NEED…". Success can be achieved if your desires are limited by not being too ambitious. Greed is the root cause of all misery.It is not possible to achieve success with out sustained hard work.No pains,no gains. The garden of Wisdom I, ran away from a tactless crowd, and came to a world where mysticism was practised loud Aah! It was a moon-lit garden of which I had always dreamt, gratifying and delectable it was,not like the world which was unkempt It was a fruitful garden of ecstasy, and not a world of hypocrisy.. While walking down the boulevard, I had a glimpse of the flowers, the birds,the mist,the wooden bridge;the moon,the sky and the stars In there, twilight autumn reigned, and in the corner of the garden,a red rose was maintained Awed by it’s delicacy,I ran to pluck it, There,appeared a fairy,said, “Chuck it! This rose is the most magnificent element of this place, dare you be lured, by it’s grace. It’s beauty is not deserted, it comes along with thorns, the loss of many hands and hopes,this beautiful place still mourns. Came many to acquire the beauty, their futile attempts went into vain.” “I crave for that rose”, said I, “as well as my ego I have to sustain.” The fairy,soon,flew away, for me, making a way. Greedy me bent to tweak the rose, the moment made me feel like heaven was so close Birds started tweeting, the garden began to hum, the Sun rose from no-where,the extravaganza made me dumb I thought happiness had been acquired by me, who knew,the joy would only be wee.. Soon the neighbouring flowers turned into vetches, on learning the fetid air, my stomach retches. Both my hope and the rose tended to wilt, I despoiled the garden,and was filled with guilt I ran to exit that grimy blue place, alas! The charm of the garden sank without a trace Crossing the craters, I was out, on existence of the bliss for long, I still had a doubt I turned towards the archway and read, those words,on the board,moved me,they said…. NO GOOD THING COMES WITHOUT PAIN, AND ZEAL OF THAT THING DOES NOT ALWAYS SUSTAIN SUCCESS BELONGS TO THEM WHO DESIRE WITHOUT GREED, YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE, AND NOT WHAT YOU NEED…
