Here is a closer look at the M2.5 solar flare a little earlier off the east limb. A weak coronal mass ejection (CME) became visible in the latest LASCO C2 imagery and as expected, it was directed to the east and away from Earth. We will get a better look at the source region over the next several days when it turns into view. Video by NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Little SDO) using the 131 angstroms channel. The video is also colorized using the red temperature format found in Helioviewer.
