Here is a video of a new 3D shadowbox (finished in 2015) of The Avengers #15 cover by Jack Kirby & Chic Stone (1965) for client Larry Wilson in NY. As with many comic collectors. this issue had special meaning to Larry as a kid reading it. No actual covers were used for this 3D. The prints used were taken from the internet, not scanned directly from a cover (which would have been my preference for sharpness). Larry owned one, but being sealed to protect its condition, preferred not to open it and had me use some images downloaded from the internet. On one image, the grass was colored greener which is what Larry preferred I use, but the right side of that image was cut shorter than another we found which showed more of Baron Zemo. However, when I printed both images to fill an 8.5x11 paper, the smaller images, like the Wasp and background villiains, were unclear and pixelated or the colors were blurred. I knew my cutting would help sharpen that. I had the better image then Vectored by a friend which helped in some cases, but also muddied the coloring in others. The final 3D resulted in a mix of all 3 images. About 20 copies of the prints were used and this took about 20 hours, a bit longer than originally estimated. The 3D measures at 7 x 10.5 x 5 inches.
