Here we go again, militant unions going on strike yet again - TopicsExpress

Here we go again, militant unions going on strike yet again (somewhat illegitimately in my view as only a minority of unions member even voted for the action), not for some cause of greater social justice but their own greed and selfishness. If the unions lived in the real world then they would see that inside their cocoon of the public sector they have very cushty positions. Higher average wages than the private sector, incremental pay rises, guaranteed pensions, more days annual leave, I could go on. Its not surprise that the Labour party is pretty much bankrolled by the major unions, ergo they have a vested interest in doing all they can to mobilise opposition against their political opponents. This is not about the interests of the wider economy, nor the country as a whole. Indeed, their constant strikes do far more economic damage and weaken Britains image abroad deterring investment. Insulated by taxpayers’ cash and having no commercial imperative to succeed, many state employees do not have a clue about the real world. That is why their demands are so absurd, their grievances so unjustified. This from a former Labour councillor....
