Heres a time lapse video I put together from a trip to Monahans Sandhills and Big Bend five months ago. Its one of the first that I created that includes some of my own poetry. For this particular time lapse, the poem was written after the still footage was assembled. The Call of the Wild A setting sun over soft, tawny sands... not long and then rising again into still, blue morning, light inching upward, expanding into the spaces between us. This is the call of the wild. We follow it into the mountains, beneath the clouds, across the deserts. We hear it in the shadows and light, patterns and lines etched in stone, merging the stories of our ancestors with our own. We value these places for their silent strength and enduring beauty, even amidst severe adversity.
