Heres an interesting album from the experimental metal group Tomahawk (Mike Patton of Faith No More, Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle, John Stanier of Helmet, Duane Denison of The Jesus Lizard) The songs are based on Native American compositions researched by the guitarist Duane Denison and is considered to be fairly faithful to its source material. Featuring pieces like the Sun Dance, Omaha Dance, Mescal Rite, Crow Dance and Antelope Ceremony interpreted as experimental metal. The album title Anonymous is a reference to the uncredited composers of this source material. The source music was passed down from generation to generation through an oral tradition.
