Heres the score-Nathan 1 KY Medicaid 542. We did it. Nathan was approved for the appropriate Medicaid and now is officially on the Michele P Waiver program. 2 hours on the phone, 6 different people and that is the word this morning. I have never worked so hard, been so confused and wanted to quit more than I have the past 6mos. I am a little stunned and still not believing this but our case worker from the waiver will be here this afternoon so I can see it for myself. In other news, it seems that KY Medicaid has agreed to pay for Nathans contd care at Duke as long as Duke is enrolled and from what I understood in a roundabout way is that they are. I will find out the details on this next week when we get back. At this very moment, still expecting some hiccups and roadblocks, we are going to be able to call KY home. Nathan will be able to continue on the trial, he will have insurance that will travel, we can say goodbye to the $800 a month COBRA premiums, I will be able to continue to provide the resources for travel through the grant money, Nathan will be able to enroll in the special behavior therapy at Growing Minds in Henderson and I will not have to be checked into a mental institution. Yay! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers on this, major hiccup in the rear view! Now, back to fighting brain cancer. XO
