Heres the thing: there is a fantastic concert this weekend in Boise. The program is as diverse as anything the Philharmonic has done is recent years: an early Haydn symphony emblematic of reasoned, perfectly proportioned Enlightenment style, a monolithic romantic symphony by my Finnish bro Sibelius, and a super colorful, sultry 20th-century piece for violin and orchestra by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. Do yourself a favor and come check it out. You have my permission to not dress up.
