Heres two photos of my first truck and snowmobile. I was young and gullible and ended up buying Geoff Kyles 07 which I pretty much rode into the ground while learning, blew up the engine 3 times over the course of two years (they say 2007s were lemons, regardless). The next machine I owned also blew up twice (once at 1500km, again at 9500km), and more or less had bent every single piece of aluminum on the chassis. By the time I sold it, Im pretty sure I had bolted and riveted an extra 50lbs of reinforcing aluminum and steel onto the frame to keep it in one piece. Im so happy that steep learning curve is more or less over, and now I reinforce and brace my machine BEFORE I ride it ( Cheetah Factory Racing tunnel stiffeners are a MUST if you plan on packing skis! Those tunnels are way too thin on their own to handle long skis over 30kms of whoops at high speeds. The BRP heavy duty bumper also helps stiffen up the tunnel.) instead of after when its its too late. I guess not landing in bomb holes, packing ski boots instead of wearing them all day, and making tranny on jumps helps too. Advice for anyone getting into snowmobiling? Warranty is your friend, two-stroke engines dont typically go longer than 5-6000km without problems, and learn to love drilling factory rivets, regardless of which brand you buy. ;)
