Hey Friends, We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that - TopicsExpress

Hey Friends, We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that your coming week is just as good. It has been reported that the RezQ Dogs attendance to Pet Fest was a success. Please forgive us for not doing the update on that as of yet, there will be much to report and, from what I was told, many wonderful “thank you’s” to give. Many of the wonderful people we have known but never met now have a face. Our Director would like to be giving this update but, as usual, she is on the road. A vet trip and we have some new “special cases” arriving. Hopefully, details soon. As you know, we love all of our RezQ Dogs family. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Capone. In many ways, I look at Capone and see myself. We both carry battle scars from life. The main difference being, mine were mostly earned and his were just given. An animal to be disposed of. Thanks to the support that Capone has been shown, this is no longer true. I so wish I had the capacity of a dog. Capone, with the bent face, broken muzzle, and crooked teeth, he holds no grudges over his past treatment. This once sick and shy injured dog has come so far. He scares me for he will actually try to act like a puppy and we have to stop him. Maybe after his surgery he can be the puppy he wants to be. Not only has he forgiven his humans, he adores people. He could run around our exercise area when out. He could go check out the nooks and crannies of our yard. Instead, he does his business and waits patiently by the door, wishing for nothing more than the little bit of scratching and interaction our time allows for. Capone does have one special friend. We smile every time we think of this friend. On a final note, here is a testament to this goofy boy. Because of using one of our small storage containers, I had made a small hole in the corner of a dog food bag. When I turned my back, Capone went to see if there was any food to accompany the wonderful smell coming from this bag. Once he had the hole enlarged enough, he got his head stuck in the bag. About this time, he realized he was stuck and, now blind. He backed around in a small circle a couple of times, sat down and howled. I don’t think it helped his ego much as he heard me giggling. When I had “restored his vision” he almost knocked me over with licks and tail wags as he pushed against “his savior.” Sometimes I wonder if they don’t plan their “fiascoes” for when we need a laugh. Please remember to vote in the Shelter Challenge, please keep liking and sharing, and all that you do for the animals. Sorry for the lack of information but I assure you, we will post as soon as we are able. Thank you all again and have an awesome day!
