Hey all, Sean Leslie here. I dont want to dwell on the death of a celebrity, even one as beloved as Robin Williams. After all, people take their lives all the time with little or no media coverage. But maybe thats the point--we only really pay attention to mental illness, depression, etc, when its shoved in our faces. Jon McComb has done a great job talking about the stigma around mental illness on CKNW over the last few years--in my opinion, that still takes guts. What do we need to do to dispell that stigma? Has mental illness taken a toll on you or your loved ones? Any advice for folks out there who need help--but are too scared to come forward? There is help out there!
