Hey everybody! Sorry that this is long! Please read it all the way through if you can! Most of yall might know already since Ive been posting about it like crazy on Facebook, but Im going to Ghana in ONLY 5 weeks on a mission trip! Im going through an organization at the University of Georgia thats very dear to me and has changed my life from the moment Ive gotten involved! Im so excited (and also nervous) for what God has in store for me while Im in Ghana! Ill be there for 2 whole months this summer. Were spending 4 months in a city called Accra, and then 4 weeks in a small village. Ill be going through a lot of cross-cultural training before all of our work starts, which Im really excited about but which I know will be tough. Its going to be a very different culture and environment than the one I am used to! In the village we are going to, were going to partner with churches, where pastors and church members will lead us on evangelism projects and different activities with everyone who lives there. We will actually get to stay with a host Ghanian family for a few weeks, which Im really excited about! When we are in Accra (the city), we will be working with the poor and serving them, and will also be staffing and putting on this huge worship conference for the city, where hundreds of Ghanian people will come to know Christ! I have a feeling that I will see Gods power move in overwhelming ways! Ive got 5 weeks left before I leave, and still have a lot of fundraising left to do! I need just under $4,000 raised before I go, and right now I am at about $200. It would mean the world to me for Riversoflivingwater Athens and its members to donate. You all have been a major part of my faith, even though I know I havent been able to come recently because of my job, you all have been a great support system for me, and the source of some major milestones in my walk with Christ - like baptizing me!!!! In these 5 weeks leading up to my departure, please pray that God will provide me with all of the money I have to raise, and also pray that God will prepare my heart and mind for what I will experience while I am there. During Ghana, please just pray that I will run to God and continue to receive my strength from Him. Please pray that He will show me how much He loves me, and that I will get the most growth out of the trip that I can. Also, just pray that God will impact the people there and that He will prepare the Ghanian peoples hearts to see how much He loves them, and that they will allow Him to change their lives forever! As weve all seen in Cedric Eberharts powerful testimony of life and healing, the power of prayer is ASTOUNDING! Your prayers would mean the world to me.
