Hey folks... I suggest that you vote for the Bugatti Aerolithe - TopicsExpress

Hey folks... I suggest that you vote for the Bugatti Aerolithe recreation as the Car of the Year from The International Historic Motoring Awards. This Canadian-built hand-made beauty was built by a Canadian car restoration company known as The Guild of Automotive Restorers. David C. Grainger and his team created a stunning recreation of the 1935 Bugatti Aerolithe, a car which disappeared and of which only photographs and drawings exist. Using the earliest known Type 57 chassis, with matching transmission and rear end and a brand new hand-built magnesium body. The Aerolithe was often called the Electron car because Ettore Bugatti announced at the Paris Show that it had been built from aeronautical grade magnesium alloy. There were similarities with aircraft construction as many of the panels on the Aerolithe were riveted together. This proved to be safer than welding the volatile magnesium alloy. This is not my car, nor do I have anything to do with this car. One of my facebook friends worked as a researcher for the Guild`s TV show on The History Channel called Restoration Garage, and she asked me to vote in support of the car. But I truly do believe that this car is quite an achievement in craftsmanship and is certainly a beautiful way to bring back the ghost of a very special one-off Bugatti. Check the link and cast your ballot! Thanks, Alex
