It has just come to my attention that Valero is planning to build 424 miles of crude oil pipeline across Wildlife Management Areas in my home state. I am writing to beg of you to please not construct this pipeline. We are currently in a state of shock & terror from a toxic ecological catastrophe when an Exxon pipeline burst in the neighborhoods of Mayflower & spilled bituminous sands all over the city & into our lakes. People are sick. People have died. Properties are ruined & will never be sold for any reasonable value. Exxon lied at every turn when questioned about logistics & science. It is wholly impossible to quantify the environmental, physical, & psychological damage using a monetary system or any system that I know of. This was last year. On behalf of my countrymen & women, our brothers & sisters, sons, daughters & the future of nature & of all things beautiful I beg for your mercy -- please do not build this pipeline. Please instead consider redirecting the finances towards implementation of more sustainable energy practices. Please develop safer methods of powering our society so we may be as great a nation as we claim to be. Please set a great example by saying NO MORE! & thus helping prevent the looming internal combustion of our society. I ask you kindly, out of the love of my heart for humanity, the green Earth, its blue skies & everything living here, please do not construct this pipeline here in Arkansas, The Natural State.
