Hey, this is the Chaplain again. Well it’s Easter. But what does Easter really mean? If you watch TV you might think it’s all about chocolate bunnies and colored eggs. If you attend a church service you may hear the choir sing a special cantata and you’re sure to hear a sermon about the empty tomb. The truth is that Christianity hinges on Easter. If Christ had not left that tomb then Christianity would be just one more religion built around some dead man. So Easter is pretty special. It’s actually the most significant day in the history of humanity. But to bring it down to a personal level – to me Easter means ‘failure isn’t final’. I’m thinking about the Apostle Peter. Remember how he denied even knowing Christ on the night he was arrested. Talk about blowing it, Peter wins the prize for messing up. Coward, traitor, what else can we call him? But something happened to Peter – Easter happened. And that means he got another chance. Praise God, failure isn’t final – just ask Peter. Go over to Acts chapter 5 and read how this onetime coward stood up to the very people that had Jesus put to death. He refused to keep quiet. So they beat him and told him not to even mention Jesus. But in verse 42 we’re told that every day and everywhere, “they never stopped preaching the good news about Jesus.” Peter went from fearful to fearless because the tomb is empty. Easter means that no matter how many times you fail God, He still loves you more than you can imagine and there is always another chance. Easter means - Failure isn’t final! Maybe that’s something for you to pray about. If you’d like to talk to someone about spiritual things, you can call Chaplain Paul at (479) 264-6146, or email: chaplain.northcut@gmail . I’d love to talk and pray with you, anytime. May the Lord, Jesus Christ, draw you always closer to Himself.
