Hi All. Fin is unfortunately still in hospital. On Sunday the doctor took some swabs and they have found out he has got Influenza A so since then we have been officially in isolation. The doctors and nurses come in with aprons / masks / gloves - I think the biggest concern is about him infecting other patients in the hospital. As he was coughing and sneezing we made the decision to delay his MRI. It is hard enough for him to lie still when he feels well let alone with the flu. New MRI date is 9th January. So the big unknown at the moment is if we will get out for Christmas Day. Fin has been neutropenic up until today, but todays bloods have picked up so that is one tick in the box. The battle we have right now is getting his temperature under control. We need 24 hours of stable temp before they will release him. Its been high today but a bit lower this afternoon. Everything is crossed. I think in the morning we will know if its a no ( ie temperature overnight) but if its a yes we probably wont know until the afternoon. So thats the latest. Weve all been a bit down / emotional today. Just so want him home and our gorgeous family back together but at the end of the day we have to do whats best / safest for Fin. if we cant get him home then we will bring Christmas Day, Tiggy and Kenzie to BCH and the turkey will have to wait for another day xxx
