Hi Everyone. Heres an update on Matt and Bobbye Jeans status. Matt has been home since September 13. He was able to celebrate his birthday outside of the hospital. I remember how incredible that event was. At one point we were just hoping he would be out by the time the baby was born. Baby boy is doing well in his Moms tummy and she continues to be healthy. She is due January 12. Matt is traveling to Tampa three times a week to a specialty burn rehabilitation clinic. It has proven to be worth the drive. They are experts in their field and pay special attention to Matt and his rehab needs. They are working him and making custom braces that are helping him progress. At home he has timers that go off hourly to remind him to stretch in some way. The scar tissue is a constant battle to keep from freezing his mobility by shrinking and tightening. He is experiencing ongoing pain, especially in the nerve department. It is exhausting for him. He is still seeing his physician once a week to attend to the open wound on his head, sternum and the ears. They have to continue to burn down the hyper granulation as his skin tries to heal itself. This is painful and ongoing. But on the bright side, he may not need grafting on one ear, his head, and possibly the sternum! He continues to be stretched physically as well as emotionally. He never complains and is an example of a remarkable human being. We are beyond impressed. Please pray with us for Matt and Bobbye Jean and baby Manzari. I want the best for them and for Matt to have more good days than bad. For pain to cease and for him to be able to focus on the fun things in life. Specifically we want his healing to be complete: nerves, strength, muscles, flexibility, scaring and overall health. We pray for them to be encouraged in ways we could not even imagine. For success in all areas and for direction for their new life. Again, we thank you so much for being a part of our team for Matt and Bobbye Jean. I know first hand they are extremely grateful for all your prayers and support. It is overwhelming.
