Hi, Everyone!! Sorry for the lack of updates. It has been really busy! Please continue to cover Karina and her family in prayer. They still have a long road ahead. Currently, she is pretty stable and doing well. She is in the 2nd phase of treatment. This places her in the hospital once every two weeks for a few days to get the intense 24-hour chemo. Then, she is released and able to go home for 10 days. Then she returns and repeats the process. This will happen about 8 times over a 2-3 month time period. That is a quick description of the plan. We all know, of course, that things dont always go as planned. Please pray they do and she is able to stay on course! She will also have several more bone marrow aspirates and spinal taps in the next few months. Those tests are the ones she is given general anesthesia for, so they are like operations. They have left her very sore for 3-4 days, except for one time. So praying they dont bother her would be great and that her new port would keep doing well. Also, she is unable to return to school per doctors orders, so she is homeschooling for the next year. This is one of her greatest disappointments. All in all things are going as well as can be expected when you have leukemia. We are convinced this is because of our mighty and faithful God, amazingly supportive family and friends, and the wonderful care she is receiving from St. Jude. Thank you, Everyone! Please keep those prayers and support coming! :D :D :D
