Hi Everyone! Start your sunday with a mishmash (is that a word?) of solid self-care advice. I have patients ask me for advice regarding sleeping posture and pillow options all the time. Who knew a PhD in Sleepology would come in so handy ;) This video is deceptively informative. If your body is not prone to chronic recurring symptoms that seem to be related to sleep posture and/or pillow issues, you can still benefit from the other three topics Kelly briefly touches upon: 1. Happy Baby Pose can be an extremely effective way to improve hip and low back mobility (particularly hip flexion and abduction). 2. Self-treatment with a ball to mobilize upper back structures can be an effective way to also decrease neck tension and increase shoulder mobility. 3. Many people who struggle with chronic foot and/or calf symptoms dont realize that excessively short soft tissue structures in the front of the foot and lower leg can create a tug-o-war situation that prevents their symptoms from politely disappearing.
