Hi Everyone Welcome to the new 2013-14 season and what a season it will be hopefully! I will update the website and Facebook site over the coming week, so don`t be surprised if it is not up to date just yet but there is a lot to change and I have work and a life would you believe! Anyway here are the first up and coming events and info so you can make a date in your diaries for them and enter know! **The 10th BOBBY GOW MEMORIAL CUP: Thursday 19th September 2013, 7:30pm at Castlehill Chess Club: We are the holders and this is the warm up curtain raiser for the TAFCA season. I would like if possible for "YOU ALL" to be available for that night. It is a great nights chess with our local rivals. The atmosphere is always electric! This is a plea to support your club on the night! BRING IT ON! (Please let me know if you are available to play?) NEW: In line with current policy the Time-Control for the Bobby Gow will be: Both players have 90 minutes to finish the match, agree a result, or lose on time! There will no longer be a second time control (usually 15 minutes) as this has been added to the main time-control. No wondering if you still have time to add. What`s on the clock is all that you have! No set number of moves, just 90 minutes each player to complete the match. Any questions please let me know. **The 1st 5-MINUTE GRAND PRIX takes place on Monday 23rd September 2013, 7:30pm sign-in. **The 32nd KONRAD WIERZBICKI MEMORIAL ALLEGRO take place on Thursday 3rd October 2013, 7:30pm sign-in. **CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2013-14: Entries are now being taken for our annual club championship. Format: 6 round Swiss-Oct to May: Tine-Control: We have a new time control this year? Both players will have 90 minutes each in which to complete the match. There is no other additional time added, it is all in the one. No set move numbers, just the 90 minutes each in which to force or agree a result or lose on time! *Membership fees are now due and must be paid by the end of September: Fees the same as last year.
