Hi Guys I have just been informed that I have a place in The Prudential Surrey 100 and am of course delighted but also somewhat reluctant the reason being after a heart attack I am on quite a lot of heart meds. The specialists and Doctors are fine that I cycle ( they all say its the best form of exercise) but my question is because there are lots of hills on the coarse and that I take a pill called Bisoprolol Fumarate ( type Beta Blocker) that acts as a brake if the heart is put under pressure so its highly unlikely that I run a risk but Im curious, that on the off chance, that someone here also takes this drug and has experience of riding these types of hilly courses. I can ride quite long distances, 94 miles being the longest, but do struggle on hills and as you have to complete the coarse in 8 and a half hours Im wondering if any one here, with a history of cardiac problems has done it.Thanks for your input.
