Hi Sarnia friends! Im speaking at the Judith & Norman ALIX Art Gallery tomorrow night as a part of their Art and Ideas programming. Event starts at 7:00 PM. In conjunction with the current series of Art Lab exhibitions, featuring contemporary works by Ron Martin, Jenna Faye Powell, Director of Forest City Gallery (FCG) in London will join JNAAG assistant curator Darryn Doull for a conversation tracing the history of the FCG, and the efforts of the London Regionalists during the 1970s. Doull will provide the background to the Art Lab exhibitions, offering insight into the work of Martin and the importance of displaying difficult works of contemporary art. Powell will speak to the foundation and learned history of the FCG, paralleling the beginnings of Martin’s artistic career.
