Hi There, Rick and I finally got home from the Doctors today, having breakfast at lunch time and stopping off at Marks Drug Store. I got pissy faced this morning when they tried handing me pages and pages to fill out for a new Dr. I told them my other Dr., is in the same building, same group of Drs., get his info I filled out and make a photo copy. They did but the Assistant wasnt happy. They sent me in for new X-rays of both knees to use for comparison from the last one and my MRI from a couple weeks ago. An hr. Later the doctor came in. Great guy. I really like him. He didnt understand how I could walk around and function the way I do. He didnt understand why I wasnt set up for an earlier appointment. Why my doctor didnt call him to get me in right away. The best way for me to understand and explain is the way he told me. My knee is shot. Its like terminates have been eating away and nothing is there. He said thats why sometimes when I walk, my leg gives out and I do everything in my power to maintain my balance. He said the cortisone shot didnt do a thing for me because of all the inflammation and swelling. He pushed on the spot, tears swelled up in my eyes as I let out a painful yell of ouch. I didnt call him a mother fooker like I wanted to. Just met the guy. Anyway, he wants to do a new kind of surgery. Its called sub condro plasty. He plans on injecting a concrete type substance in my knee. He wants to keep me over night. This wont be a out patient procedure. Hes at two hospitals and wants me in ASAP. Im waiting for them to call me with scheduling. One hospital is St. Alexis in Hoffman Estates which I hate! My dear friend Brophy was there and they were ass holes who never took good care of him. He almost died there. The other one is Alexan Brothers. Since I told him I have COPD, he wants an approval from my pulmanary Dr. Im set up to get his approval Tuesday. He doesnt want me walking around. He wants me off my leg. He also wrote me a prescription for a walker and a cane. Forget the walker!!!! I did break down on the cane. I wasnt stable with a single bottom base. I needed the 4 posts. Omg the guy tried to teach me how to walk with it. I better wear depends because Ill never make it to the bathroom the same day. He told me to take a step with my left foot, then my right foot and move the cane at the same time. I couldnt stop laughing as I tried to walk up to the counter going, left, right, I got it, oh Fook it! Ok left, right. Im glad that finally, Im getting help with this knee that has been giving me problems for months. One person told me I should report the first Dr., Rick said no because hes in the same building, same group with the others. He said let it go. Im going to get this fixed and be as good as new come spring. I just want to be able to make it to Joe And Jodis Halloween party. There is none other like it!
