Hi all, we just left our appointment with the oncologist, Dr. Delrie. Basically, the tumors have been stable for the last 2 chemo cycles, so while they do not appear to have grown, they have not shrunk either. Since we are scheduled for an appointment with Dr. Heymach at MD Anderson in Houston next Wednesday (the 17th), were going to postpone the next round of chemo for a few days, so that we can first get his recommendation on how to proceed. Were also going to get information on possibly participating a clinical trial for a newly-developed cancer treatment. For now the main concern is persistent sinus drainage (possibly allergies) bringing on severe coughing spells, which are exhausting. Were starting on some allergy medication today, so hopefully that will help. Also, less activity recently has led to severely diminished muscle mass, strength and stamina, especially when walking, which some at-home exercises will hopefully improve. Please pray: that the sinus drainage and accompanying cough would finally subside; for improved strength, stamina and mobility; that our trip to Houston next week would be safe and productive; and especially that an effective treatment would be found.
