Hi, everybody. As the fall semester nears, here are a couple of items to think about: 1. The last-minute registration deadline for all journalism internships -- that includes getting all of your documents signed and submitted -- is Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 5 p.m. Thats the first Wednesday during the first week of the semester. We average about 20 journalism internships per semester. We have five full-time faculty members on campus this fall term. That means most of us will be limiting the number of internships we supervise to four or five at most. That also means you need to start reaching out to a faculty member now if you want him or her to supervise you. It doesnt matter if you dont know them. Get to know them. And get the process rolling. 2. I have some seats left in JOU 4224 Magazine Editing & Production. Thats the Centric class. It meets Monday-Wednesday, 10:30-11:45 a.m. I have had the instructor permission only block removed from the course for this semester. Anyone who has successfully completed JOU 2100 News Reporting may enroll. Join our staff and enjoy a hands-on learning experience of producing a magazine -- in print and online -- that you can be proud of and that can lead to a great internship or even a job.
