Hi everyone! Heres a shout out to anyone looking for a piggy in the San Francisco Bay Area. I recently rescued a female pot-belly. When I say rescued, I mean bag of bones rescue. We could not leave her, but we also cant really give her the home she needs. We are keeping her where we board our horses so she has a nice big stall and an outside pen. But it would be nice to find her a home where she can have more attention. She is through her re-feeding period and showing good weight gain...and having survived should be just like any other piggy to care for. She will be 9 in May. She is spayed and had eyelid surgery as a baby. Im told she has a condition called metabolic bone syndrome (sounds like she was also malnourished when she was young), but she is sound and active. She needs her feet done and she needs gain some more weight. She will allow you to scratch her but its evident she has not had a lot of attention. She does not automatically relax and fall over when you pet her belly. She is not litter box trained and does not know how to walk on a leash. If anyone is willing to take on this project, please contact me.
