Hi everyone. Hope you’re having a great Friday night. I want to take a moment to announce some personal news. For more than 12 years now you have been kind enough to invite me into your family room during meal time, homework with the kids or even chores. Not only do I appreciate your loyal viewership, I am very thankful for your friendship. However the time has come for me to join my own family around the dinner table. So with an extremely heavy heart I want you to know I’ve decided to leave News Channel 5. This is an incredible place to work. Amazing, compassionate, kind and loving people fill this station and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work along-side them. News Channel 5 is family to me and always will be. As I said, it’s just time to be with my own family in the morning and at night. My children have missed out on Mommy being able to tuck them in and kiss them good-night for years. And once they start school this fall – if I continued to work this shift - I would drop them off in the morning and then not see them until the next day. I just can’t let that happen. I hope you understand while I am very passionate about telling stories and connecting with our wonderful community my heart is at home, which is where I need to be right now. Of course none of us know what the future holds. I will find another job just something that allows me to be around during meal time, homework with the kids and yes, even chores. My last day is August 2nd. My sincerest, best wishes to all of you and again, thank you for making my time here in Nashville so extremely special. - Kristin :)
