Hi folks, I just came back from one of the police stations in - TopicsExpress

Hi folks, I just came back from one of the police stations in Douala. A week ago, I lodged a complaint there against one of my workers who fled with my money. He had been sent to do some shopping and he decided to help himself with the money and took to his heels. So, like every good citizen, who pays his taxes, and rightly expects justice to be done, I went to the police. So this morning I was called to come for what is called Avis de recherces (a wanted persons notice, I believe it is). What shocked me was what the police woman told me. She asked me to take the Avis wherever I go and once I spot the culprit, I should quickly notify the nearest police man or woman, who would then arrest and lock the fellow up, pending a court appearance. I was so shocked that I asked: Are you serious? Is it me to go looking for the criminal? Her answer was even more shocking. Sure, its you. Do you imagine how many police men and women we would need in the city like Douala, if the police had to go running after every criminal reported to them? Come to think of it, shes probably right. Thats why the so-called avis de recherches is now at the bottom of my waste-paper basket.
