Hi folks. Looking for advice. I have an elderly springer (14) who we rescued age 6 as his 3rd home. Hes always had issues, he was a rock and stone carrier wen we got him and had ground his teeth down, always been slightly anxious. Hes settled well with our collie but a few weeks ago she passed away. Our springer is now 14, totally deaf an has one eye. Hes also slightly unbalanced as he recently had a bout of vestibular. Hard to know if hes confuse due to lack of senses or dimensia...similar symptoms displayed, namely confusion in familiar places. Anyways since he lost his companion hes been very anxious and showing serious separation anxiety from us. We take him almost everywhere with us and theres someone at home in the day but sometimes he will have to be left. He sleeps in a crate overnight with door open (crate covered like a den) so Im thinking of putting him in there in the day for short periods until he starts settling.
