Hi guys, There have been various questions/concerns/misconceptions/general grumblings about the t-shirts this year. This was discussed at length at the meetings, but Ill here reproduce what was said there so that those who were not in attendance can get a picture of where we are with the whole thing: 1. The person who was in charge of the shirts made the decision to leave Polk right in the middle of the ordering process. I raise this just to let you know what is going on, not to express any frustration or negative sentiment toward that person. It was my understanding that we would have order forms at Back to School Night, but that didnt happen. Her departure during the first week of school left us starting from scratch on the t-shirts. I had to construct an order form (I apologize for the omission on sizes for the sweatshirts, they come in the same sizes as the t-shirts). I also needed to check our order and it turned out that I needed to change it. So that set us back a bit. 2. It turned out that the person who was previously in charge of the shirts was unaware that a design decision had already been made and voted on by the students. Apparently, a graphic artist was paid to produce a design (and did a great job). As it turned out, though, folks wanted to use the design for which the students voted. We can talk about using the design made by the graphic artist next year. So we needed to obtain that design (by Andy Blodgett) and send that along to the gentleman in charge of the t-shirts. That set us back a bit as well. 3. As it stands, the order is in. When can we expect them? I suspect it will be by The Fall Festival, but to be completely honest, I dont know for sure. I have never personally worked with this company before. I will check on their status this week. 4. As far as sizing is concerned, the shirts from last year should provide an accurate picture of the sizes for this year (e.g., a small from last year should be the same size as a small this year). 5. I passed the new graphic along to the gentleman in charge of the t-shirts. Ill be frank--it was never clear to me that he understood that we wanted to change the graphic. We had a lot to discuss. There is some chance the shirts will have the original graphic made by the graphic designer on them. I think that youll find that it doesnt much matter. Both designs are totally fine. Ill post the two graphics in the comments to this post below. We appreciate your patience as we get this thing resolved.
