Hi guys its Kalista, how are we all? Today I had my first hot pilates class with Carol and a yoga class with Katy. I think that hot pilates does help you to understand your body better, especially as Carol did explain why we were doing certain stretches and how they benefit you. She also explained why pilates is performed in a heated room. Pilates helps to relieve any tight muscles that you may have and also improves your posture. Ive played football and basketball in the past so I have quite tight hamstrings. I feel as though if you attend a pilates class often enough then it would really benefit you and help to improve your joint mobility. I prefer hot pilates to yoga as I think that pilates is an activity that you benefit more from especially if you do a lot of sports or have had a recent injury. After attending Carols class I have now got a better understanding of my body and will ensure that i maintain a good posture. I found Katys yoga class today immensely relaxing and enjoyable out of all the classes I have been to. I was able to relax both mentally and physically during this session. Katy was extremely helpful during the class as she gave everyone, who may have had their positioning slightly incorrect, that extra support. She also congratulated and praised the students very often which gave that additional boost of confidence. Towards the end of the session Katy gave everyone a type of massage that enabled us to lie down in a way that helped us to be completely relaxed. At this point in the session I could have fallen asleep I was so relaxed. This class was the least challenging of all, its clear to see that each instructor has their own spin on yoga. Id definitely attend again.
