High glycine/serine ratios may be a marker of lower prostate risk While high sarcosine and glycine concentrations were associated with reduced prostate cancer risk only borderline significantly and serum betaine, DMG, and serine were not associated with prostate cancer risk, individuals with a high glycine/serine ratio had a -26% decreased prostate cancer risk in a recent study from the University of Bergen in Norway.
