High temperatures today were once again below normal for this time of year, with readings in the lower to mid 80s over the metro areas of SE Florida. It was a bit warmer over interior and Gulf coast areas, with a high of 91 degrees in Naples. Nevertheless, this marks the 7th consecutive day of at or below normal temperatures for Miami and West Palm Beach, and the 6th consecutive day in Naples where low temperatures have been in the 60s the past several days. For comparison purposes, the average high temperature for May 21 is 88 in Miami, 87 in Fort Lauderdale, 86 in West Palm Beach and 89 in Naples. These mild temperatures wont last too much longer as a warming trend is forecast over the next few days. Highs are expected to be near 90 by Friday and continuing through the Memorial Day weekend.
