Hiring Now: Senior Manager- O & M Long Distance - Qatar Rail Visit Middle East Jobs >> bit.ly/midejobs Please Follow >> bit.ly/mideastjobs Job Purpose: To develop operational & Maintenance strategy by exercising effective leadership in planning, development, and management of Qatar Rail Service Delivery Department in relation to delivery of operational services for Long Distance project while developing & achieving standards & internal targets for safety, operations, service reliability, and customer service.Duties & Responsibilities: Strategic • Develops strategies to restore & recover services affected by operational incidents, bad weather, staff shortages or equipment failure, and acts as a focal point within Service Delivery in incident management and liaises with the emergency services and agencies for assistance; • Provides strategic direction, planning, and managing development & implementation of policies, procedures and work instructions for aligning department’s operations to the committed performance targets to ensure operations efficiency and performance; • Provides strategic management, planning, and managing the development and implementation of policy and procedures for minimising the life cycle maintenance costs, maximising availability of facilities and systems, providing for system safety, maximising reliability and providing adequate protection for employees, facilities, equipment, and parts; • Meets Key Performance Indicators according to targets agreed with O&M Director in areas of: Management of client and contractor interface, delivery of study reports on time, preparations for launch of service. Operational • Manages effectively processes & resources to meet requirements of Long Distance customers e.g. service frequency, punctuality, cleanliness and provision of information. • Leads & participates on behalf of Qatar Rail in development and updating of standard operating procedures and work instructions due to changes in customer’s requirements, legislation, work process and methods and etc.; • Leads & participates in development and updating of maintenance operating procedures and instructions due to changes in system maintenance; • Reviews any non-conformances and Safety Notices raised against the department regularly and assign resource to close out overdue Non-Conformances (NCs) within agreed timescales; • Defines maintenance level requirements of assets related to the Long Distance • Liaises with the Shadow Operator to ensure completion of operations and Maintenance tasks relative to the Long Distance to ensure that the output of the Shadow operator is in line with agreed work requests • Leads development of plans & processes to ensure infrastructure, trains and other Long Distance assets are safe for operations, which includes development of engineering standards, controlling configuration of rail system, and delivery plans relating to planned and reactive maintenance. • Captures & devises plans aimed at identifying risks associated with contractors and third parties working on or in the vicinity of Long Distance, including interface with Contractors during the defects liability period. • Ensures that environmental impacts arising from maintenance activities are properly managed and fully compliant with all the local legislation and Qatar Rail policy.
