How bad can it be …? We talk about seven sisters. We talk about unity amongst the hills and the plains in our region. We also know that the Naga’s once sheltered Godapani when he was on the run from the regime in the time of our Kings. Now the same Naga people come down and slaughter our people. We in Assam might be of different types : Ahom’s , Kacharis, Dimasa’s , Koch , Brahmins ,Karbi’s , Kalita , Bengali speakers , Adivasis,Rabha’s but we need to stand united at this hour no matter what and vehemently protest this carnage. They are just taking advantage of us and our polite and peace loving people. Nothing else. Now to come to our great political leaders at the helm: its high time they forget squabbling for power they need to guide and lead from the front: regardless of whether its Sarbananda Sonowal or Himanta Biswa or Rockybul or Hagrama or Ardhendu Dey or Debajeet Thaosen or Prodyut Bora or Ajmal or Akhil Gogoi or the new one Gaurav Gogoi …we need answers from you all. The value of life in Assam in getting eroded by this continuous proliferation of new and new levels of politics and questions of smaller and smaller homelands and ethnic strife is becoming commonplace. Our resources are at peril and we get ravaged by floods at the smallest amount of rainfall. Our people irrespective of caste tribe or community are afraid to move on. The younger lot just wants to get out of the state for better opportunities. No wonder the Naga’s come down and slaughter us. Our national media is more focused on west bank and Iraq – do they care …I don’t think so it’s only a matter of TRP’s. If we do need a Xunor Oxom we need to be united and ask our leaders to join hands and lead from the front. Then only we can ensure a Xunor Oxom . Our biggest strength is our people and they will join in only when they have faith in the leadership ….
