How did I start: I receive a lot of emails about how I got into the business. Ive loved fashion and style all my life. I always knew that I would have a store. NO ONE assisted me with opening my store. I had no mentor, no guide, nobody but myself. My brother bought me a register, my mom bought me mannequin, and I opened up in a closet space in my aunts salon (they were trying to hush me up according to my brother). Google was my best friend for months. I googled everything from spread sheets to vendors. I despise ppl that want to get into the business but expect you to provide them with a step by step spreadsheet and a list of your vendors too. Not happening! Pride wouldnt let me ask anybody for a dime so I worked a part time job in the day time to open. Did I think I would be an instant success??? I didnt but I didnt think I would fail either. This gift has been in me since I was born. Ive always been able to pick the simpliest pieces and make them look fab. Do I make mistakes in business? Yes, often. Right now we are tweeking our shipment process. My goal is to ship orders the same day but right now its 24-48 hours if the merchandise is in stock. Who are my competitors? Me! I am my own competition. Im competing against last year, Christy. I honestly dont watch anybody else. If somebody is more successful than me I dont notice them bc my goal is to focus on being me. Where do I see my business in 5 years? Hmmm I working on that now! How did I market/brand myself? I participated in every fashion show in this area for the first year. I promoted myself on every social media site I could find. I went to small towns with clothes in my trunk and flyers that I printed at work passing them out to ppl who prob trashed them! :) where theres a vision, there will always be provision but you hv to work hard too! ❤️my first two years God used my business to work on my attitude. A nasty attitude can hinder your success. This year God has been on me to perfect small areas in my business like my email response time, shipping, customer retention & Etc. It takes a lot to hv a successful business. If you think ordering clothes and posting them will guarantee you success then you have already failed!
