How to Harvest Wheat Not Weeds: You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” ~GOD (Haggai 1:6 NIV) Then God speaks on into the next verse saying they should consider their conduct and how well they have fared because of it. (Pause and think about that.) In Haggai, God asked the Jewish people to rebuild the Temple, and although their intention was to do it, they chose to rebuild their own homes first. (Many times there are things we just *know* we should do or not do, but we put off and think that well do them later.) The Jewish people clearly put themselves first instead God. (If we put God first, He will take care of our needs!) The people thought because their intentions were to *eventually* build the Temple that it would satisfy God, which was not the case. By not allowing them to prosper, it was reminding them to return to Him. If God asks us to do something, we need to promptly obey Him for our own benefit, as He only tells us to do things that will be for our greater good. Do you find that you are working so hard at something and yet are yielding no results? Then reevaluate what you are doing to see if it is something *you* wanted to do or something God asked you to do. Ask God to reveal to you clearly what His will is for you in the situation. Pray, meditate on His Word and then (!), wait. Wait on Him hopefully, expectantly and joyfully knowing His timing is perfect. Trust Him. Thats what He asks of us. Prayer: Dear Lord, I need you every second of my life. You gave it to me and I thank you. Please help me to put You first and obey You immediately, without a second thought or slightest hesitation. For I know that whatever you ask of me, is for my own good. In Jesus name, Amen! God bless you all!!
