How to Overcome a Weight Loss Plateau There are many factors that affect a person’s weight loss efforts including fluid status, age, gender, exercise habits, genetics, menstrual cycle, medical conditions, medications and adherence with the plan. What can you do if you, or one of your clients, hits a true weight loss plateau? -A great resource for meal tracking is MyTSFL which is found at mytsfl. -Are you measuring or weighing your Lean and Green meal? -How many condiments are you having per day? We recommend 3 per day for best results. -Try aiming for 80-85 grams of carbohydrate per day for a while. To do this, try lower carbohydrate Medifast Meals and lower carbohydrate vegetables. Also know that some meatless options tend to be higher in carbohydrates. -Sometimes changing up the foods we eat can be helpful. If you or a client need some ideas check out the new Recipe Library at MyTSFL. -Reflect on your daily physical activity. You can start slowly, for example, adding in a 10 minute walk 1-3 times per day. Sometimes changing exercise up can help to jump start your metabolism. -Consider having up to 3 of our Essential One Calorie Burn products. -Consult with your health care provider regarding the need to adjust medications. Please make sure to measure progress not only in pounds. Inches lost, how your clothes fit, your ability to move easier and sleep better, your energy levels, and how you feel are all measures of success that many people overlook. -Dr. Andersen
