Humans of Commencement: Meet Maja Olesen. When asked what her plans are after graduation, she stated, I have accepted a position with the Prisoner Reentry Institute at John Jay College where I work with the Prison-to-College Pipeline program as well as assist with research in the field of reentry. This is a perfect job for me since research is one of my main interests the job allows me to work with a program that is providing college education to incarcerated individuals. This way, the work that I do, will have a very direct influence on some peoples lives as well as have a positive impact on the field of prisoner reentry. In the future I wish to be a powerful policy advocate for sound criminal justice policies here in the US as well as in my home country, Denmark.
