Hyundai has added another big name to its line-up of test pilots with the appointment of former Subaru works team driver Chris Atkinson. The Australian, 33, will support Hyundai’s main test drivers Juho Hänninen and Bryan Bouffier at selected tests this year, as the squad readies its new i20 World Rally Car for its competitive debut at the 2014 Rally Monte Carlo. Atkinson drove for Subaru between 2005 and 2008 and has tackled nine WRC rallies since then. His most recent appearance was at Rally Mexico, when he drove a Citroen DS3 WRC as stand-in for Khalid Al-Qassimi at the Abu Dhabi Citroen team.
