I ALWAYS FELT THERE WAS SOMETHING BEYOND THIS PHYSICAL DIMENSION To “be” I must “become”. And to “become” is something that I do since I was born, in my life, on the paths I choose, on the amount of time that my soul takes to understand things, on the mistakes which “bring me to become.” I sat in front of the typewriter: “We are,” and I stopped. How could I describe the dream I had had the night before? I was in the Universe, as a dust particle, like those we can see so well when a shaft of light comes streaming through a window, and we see them wandering through that light. The Universe was full of these dust particles, like intergalactic dust, but each particle had the consciousness of itself and of all the others around it. It was like an enormous collective consciousness, yet individual at the same time. I knew that I was a particle of dust, and I also knew that the other ones “were”, and they, in their turn, knew the same about me. I awoke with an extraordinary feeling of “being”, as in “I am – we are.” So, as I sat down to write, I thought, “How can I describe the complete consciousness of the Universe that I felt in my dream? I started: “In the Universe we are, on Earth we become.” (pg.13)
