I ‘M UNREPENTANT SUPPORTER OF JONATHAN –YUGUDA Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, on Monday declared that he is an unrepentant supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan just as he dispelled rumours that he was defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Yuguda accused his opponents of being behind the rumours of his defection to the opposition APC. The governor in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Abuja pointed out that he had never contemplated leaving the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC, so as to be able to help President Goodluck Jonathan win his re-election next year. Yuguda, who described himself as a die-hard supporter of President Jonathan, wondered how he could have left him half way into his presidency when he needed him the most to consolidate his position on the political turf. The governor pointed out that since Jonathan came on board as Nigeria’s President, he had remained one of his unrepentant supporters and would continue to work for his success. His words: “Let it be known to those who did not know that I remain one of the unrepentant loyalists of President Goodluck Jonathan and I will continue to work with him even after he might have left office as our president,” the governor said. “It is also a known fact that since Jonathan became president I have been one of his most consistent supporters. What then am I going to do in APC, as the tale bearers are insinuating?
