I NEED YOUR HELP. Yes YOU! But let me preface WHY first. This weekend, I was honored to be asked by Stormys Nation to become involved with a fundraiser. For those of you that dont know what Stormys Nation is, it is a coalition. A coalition is an alliance for a combined action. The Stormys Alliance consists of the Southern Ohio Bikers, and many, many, other groups that ride (motorcycles) ---for numerous charity functions. Anyone, or any group, that rides for a cause is an honorary member of Stormys Nation, regardless of what that cause or group is. The common thread among these groups is that they help PEOPLE, no matter what the reason is. Now, some recent motorcycle accidents have occurred which have involved some very kind, giving, loving persons. Some of those individuals gave their lives, or were severely injured, because of their willingness to give to others (while being involved with fundraising!). Stormys Nation would like to support the Southern Ohio Bikers in a fundraising campaign that will support the folks whom have sacrificed so much for causes such as Breast Cancer Research, Autism, The One way Farm, and many others. The biker community in the Tri-state is a close community of folks that love to ride, and love to give, because its the right thing to do. Now, we (the community at large) need to give a little something back. Tonight, several people met for a meeting. A few of us (well more like 12), that met, do not know each other very well. But that didnt matter. We heard a call to get together, to rally support for our brothers and sisters that may need our help. We are going to have a fundraiser on November 15, in Miamitown, to raise money for some recent accident victims. Having said this, this is just the first of an ongoing effort to provide funds for people who voluntarily give of themselves for YOU and your loved ones, but may get forgotten when the ride is over. The ride is never over my friends. So, I am asking for YOU to help. We need: corporate and private sponsors, bands, and donations. Big or small, we need it all. I am asking ALL of my Facebook friends to become involved in this effort, so that our biker community can continue to ride for good causes. The families that sacrificed, and those that may have to sacrifice in the future, should know they will have the support they may need one day. In these troubles times, times when we are worried about everything from our troops to the economy, we need to come together as a cohesive family. We need to trust in someone. Let it be each other. Stormys Nation consists of not only bikers, but Veterans, moms, healthcare people, financial experts, animal activists, childrens welfare groups, and YOU. It consists of ALL of us whom wish for a better tomorrow for everyone, while being mindful of our rights as Americans.
