I am NOT going to allow songs of Black inferiority complex to be - TopicsExpress

I am NOT going to allow songs of Black inferiority complex to be sung at my wedding. Songs that will NOT be sung at my wedding include this song of: Tswang tswang tswang Le bone Ngwana o tshwana le leKhalathe... (Come out, come out and see that our daughter looks like a Coloured woman). I HATE this song with a passion, because it gives legitimacy to the White supremacist belief that Black people are nothing without some degree of being touched by Whiteness. It communicates the message that Blackness is not good enough. As such, a Black woman, a Nubian Queen with her ebony sculptured dark skin cant be beautiful just the way she is - she can only be beautiful if she looks something close to Whiteness. For historical reasons, Coloured people are our own people. We have the same struggles and we suffer from the same historical constructs of dispossession. But the phenotype of Coloured people is not the same as ours. The hair texture and pigmentation doesnt betray the fact that theyre historically of White and Black mix. So in my view, such songs are regressive, as they seek to suggest that the measure of a Black womans beauty lies in its degree of proximity to Whiteness. And of course, Black women have also assimilated into this thinking by believing that in order to be beautiful at their weddings, they must resemble Whiteness as close as possible - from the application of excessive skin-tone altering make-up to the donning of weaves that resemble White womens hair. Do you see how dark-skinned I am, and how hard the texture of my locks is? So if youre to say ke tshwana le leKhalathe, exactly what are you saying since there is nothing in my phenotype that is similar to Whiteness? You sing this song at my wedding and I will roll up the sleeves of my seshoeshoe dress and deal with you. Stick to Seanamarena and Se mo tsere senatla or sit down, hobane oa bina e ea Ngwana o tshwana le leKhalathe, o ea shoeleng! Youre dead.
