I am a 7 year old boy called Martian. My whole life has been lived on the streets, with nowhere to call home and no owner to care for me. I was managing to get by, until the day I was attacked by another dog and left with a very bad wound on my back. As I had no human to take me to the vet, the wound became seriously infected and before long, was infested with maggots. I was in so much pain when I was spotted by a man called Khun Sanae. He is an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog. He scooped me up in his arms and raced me to the Soi Dog shelter. Now I am being looked after by a vet called Dr. Eugene. He cleans and treats my wound every day and has put me on painkillers and antibiotics for the infection. I am slowly starting to feel better. I am telling you my story to let you know about the Soi Dog supporters who rescued me. Their monthly donations have meant that I can be cared for at the shelter and treated with the medication I need. Without these supporters, I would still be wandering the streets in pain and would probably have died of septicaemia by now.
