I am among those who read the Psalms of the day. The system is simple. It takes the day of the month and then includes every 30th chapter. For example, today is July 10th so my reading schedule this morning included chapters 10, 40, 70, 100 and 130. (I save Psalm 119 for months with 31 days.) It is a wonderful way to read through the book of Psalms each month. Psalm 100 is always a blessing. It reminds me who God is and that I belong to Him. It encourages me to take my eyes off from myself and focus on God. As I work through this chapter savoring every thought, all complaints and anxiety fall silent and I am overcome with the goodness of God. This Psalm always moves me into a spirit of worship. It is a short Psalm with only 5 verses, but it is very pregnant with meaning. If you commit it to memory and spend time meditating on it, this Psalm will give birth to a new level of praise in your life. Let me include it in this post for your convenience. 1) Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. 2)Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. 3) Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4) Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. 5) For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations. (Psalms 100:1-5 NASB) Wow! Now on to Psalm 130, the Proverb of the day and some chapters in the New Testament. Thanks for joining me this morning for a cup of coffee, some time in the Word and a few thoughts to get the day pointed in the right direction. You can not become a world change person without having a way to invite God daily to change your world. Cut out some time at the beginning of each day to get alone with God in His Word!
