I am befuddled. These pictures were sent to me from a dear friend. Heres the story: Years ago, I was attending a recovery convention in Houston, Texas. Someone came up to me and asked if I would like to meet the real Beverley Leslie. I told them that there was no such person because I made him up. Well, I made him up with the help of the amazing writers on Will and Grace. But this person insisted that there was a REAL Beverley Leslie. And up walked my doppelganger, Mr. Charles Faudree. We glommed on to one another and became fast friends. I spent years traipsing back and forth between Los Angeles and Tulsa, Oklahoma where Charles lived and worked. We all had so much fun; Bill , Charles partner, Francie, Charles delightful sister and her fun loving husband Dale Gilman!! Charles Faudree was one of the most loved and respected interior decorators of his generation. He had clients all over the world. When the cancer he had beaten ten years earlier returned with a vengeance we all held our breath. Charles refused to let it get him down and tried to work up until the very end. The last time I visited, he was having a real bad day so we piled up in the bed with his beloved King Charles spaniels, Ruby and Lila. There was no person on this earth who could make me laugh like Charles. As we lay there in his bed giggling like two teenage girls, he suddenly remarked, I hope youre enjoying the guest room. I put rubber sheets on the bed. I heard about your problem. I squealed, Silly! My problem?? I dont wet the bed! Who told you that? I looked over and he was fast asleep. I tip toed out the door. I knew it was all over but the shoutin! This last weekend, a friend of mine went to a baby shower outside of Washington D.C. When he emailed me some pictures of the house where the shower was held, I thought it was the most beautiful house on the planet. It turns out that Barry Dixon and Will Thomas, the owners of the lovely home and hosts of the baby shower were friends of Charles! And Barry even spoke at Charles funeral which I sadly could not attend because of my grueling schedule. Well, who wasnt friends with Charles Faudree!! Anyone who met Charles fell under his spell. But heres the kicker: my friend sent me these pictures of Charles with me but I cannot for the life of me figure out where these pictures were taken. In the first picture its Charles, myself and Brunson Green, the producer of The Help. And in the other picture is Charles, myself and Tate Taylor, the director of The Help. Maybe these pictures are at a book signing in Greenwood, Mississippi where we shot the movie. I do remember Charles came over to visit the set and see Mark and Jennifer Radcliff his dear friends and clients who were also involved in the making of The Help. Lord, who knows? I just marvel at the way LIFE takes such twists and turns. I miss Charles desperately. But life goes on. Then I hear of a BABY SHOWER for TWO MEN who ARE EXPECTING TWINS. That is a miracle unto itself!! AND THE BABY SHOWER WAS HOSTED AT THE HOME OF TWO FRIENDS OF CHARLES. A death but then a baby shower. And on it goes. I think more than an actor, I shall call myself, A LIFE ENTHUSIAST! I LIKE THAT. Hello. My name is Leslie Jordan and I am a life enthusiast. Pleasure to meet you. What is your story?
