I am by no means a gay rights advocate; however, I have heard absolutely no valid legal argument articulated for what RATIONAL BASIS there is for a law banning gay marriage. I have only heard emotionally charged attacks devoid of any logical underpinning for why these laws are necessary from a governmental perspective. This is the lowest possible constitutional threshold, and the government hasnt come close to meeting even this minimal standard--NOT TO MENTION WASTING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF STATE DOLLARS (PROBABLY EVEN MILLIONS) IN THE PROCESS. Its funny how these so-called Republicans can do this and still say they are in favor of small, limited government with a straight face. I am thoroughly disgusted with members of my own political party.
